Ways to Help

There are many ministries at Good Shepherd for you to contribute to. Click here for a large list.

  • Family Promise Opportunities
Call Julie Capps or Jennifer Bohlken if you are able to volunteer. We need about 50 volunteers each time we host (4 times per year).

    • Building hosts - Unlock the doors at 4:30pm and stay until the overnight volunteers arrive at 8:30pm. This is a "lifeguard duty" position. Watch for someone to need something; otherwise, just hang out and have fun!
    • Dinner hosts - Click here for more information.
    • Overnight hosts - Click here for more information.
    • Photographers - We could use someone to come by for about an hour each day anytime between 5pm and 8pm to take pictures of our guests and volunteers. Digital is preferred and at the end of the week, we'll give the families a CD with all the pictures on it.
    • Saturday breakfast - Same guidelines as for the Dinner hosts. Click here for more information.
    • Setup - On the beginning Sunday of our host week, we need people to transform the Sunday School classrooms into bedrooms and the Parish Hall into a living area. We begin as soon as the late service ends. There are plenty of needs that do not require a strong back, although, we could use a few of those, too.
    • Teardown - On the ending Sunday of our host week, we move quickly to restore the church to its original state. We begin at 7am during the school year and 8am in the summer.
